Sidney Crosby pyramid trick video…real or fake?

Check out this video that surfaced earlier this week from Reebok Hockey’s YouTube channel, it shows Sidney Crosby pulling off incredible skill shots with pinpoint accuracy. The question is: Is it real?

The answer is yes…kind of.

All of the footage shown seems to be authentic and not computer generated, but it is not all one continuous shot like it appears to be. Watch as Sid the Kid takes his last shot to knock the rolling puck off the top of the boards, two new pucks appear to Crosby’s left that weren’t there before he took the shot. While the video is still impressive, it’s not as impressive as Reebok would like you to believe.

Ummm those pucks that appear to his left after taking the shot bounced there from the pile of pucks. The puck on the boards was still rolling, how could they have set-up another shot without it being more obvious?

you're absolutely wrong. watch when he hits the pyramid of pucks, every single one falls out of play. why do you think they zoom in on the rolling puck and then immediately room back out?

even if it took 20 takes, it's still impressive.

also, another puck appears on the boards next to the pyramid

not impressive. ovecheckin would take him into the boards

At least one puck bounces back towards him after he hits the pyramid. Pay attention

  • Anonymous

Wow, pay attention people, the pucks to his left are one that was already there, and the 2nd one is the one that hit the pyramid, not that hard to figure out, it's real, and ovechkin is a cheap shot artist

Definately there is a cut while the puck is rolling. The two extra pucks that appear could not come to a rest that quickly. No matter, quite impressive.

Come on people. That puck “jumping” off the pile and “rolling” is SOOOO fake!!

one of the pucks next to the blueline was already there before he took the slapshot, and the other one flew there after he hit the pyramid.

I'm not even that good at video editing and I could do something similar. Looks like they just got lazy about what pucks where where after many many takes. The rolling puck doesn't exist. I don't think they cared that they had some questionable things I don't think they would think anyone would really believe it was real and then they found out how dumb we all are.

I just had the last comment and as soon as I sent it I realized just how good they have us all. I”m in advertising, they wanted to leave it open for all this damn discussion and all these small flaws and questionable stuff. Because thought germination is the way you get a message to stick and web response traffic like this is as close as you can get to creating a viral video…Darn it all to heck they got us touche REEBOK you dirt balls

People….please. It is fake. NO ASKING ANYMORE!!! You all say that puck on the ice was the one that bounced there..Well it would NOT ever settle that quickly and actually the puck that bounce is suppose to be the puck he shoots next. but its fake…so who cares…doesnt mean he isnt amazing..just means rebok needs new editors.

Please note that yes, the puck he shot at the entire pyramid did come back, but that there was a puck behind the line of pucks that was next to Crosby. This is fake.
