Update on ‘Game of Thrones’ season 3

As we desperately wait for the premiere of Game of Thrones season 3 on March 31st heres some news about the show’s production as of mid November:

The storyline will be based on the first half of the 3rd part of George R.R. Martin’s masterpiece ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. But creators David Benioff and D.B Weiss have taken the series in a somewhat different direction. The storyline can be frustrating sometimes with slight differences from the books, but overall there is no denying its excellence. They have adopted a series with their own brand that has been embraced by millions of fans worldwide.

With most of the new casting announcements happening this past summer there has been another casting decision made, and this one is rather odd. According to Entertainment Weekley, Will Champion the drummer of Coldplay will be playing the minor role as a drummer in season 3. He has been the second famous musician to be cast in the show along with Snow Patrols lead singer Gary Lightbody.

Also another casting announcement made has been the beautiful Alexandra Dowling as Roslin Frey. Roslin is Walder Freys daughter that is supposed to marry Lord Edmure Tully after an accord with Catelyn Stark in season 1. But after knowing Robb Stark recently screwed that up by marrying Jeyne Westerling instead of a promised Frey daughter we have a lot of issues that are about to unfold between the Tully/Stark and Frey families.

Rumor has it, Tim Plester will be taking on the role as Black Walder, the great grandson of Walder Frey. With a large frame and dark beard he is known to be quite fierce and an intimidating presence among the Frey house. He will also be quite the adversary for Robb Stark.
