Rajon Rondo has been suspended for one game for bumping an official during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, the NBA announced on Monday. After being called for an offensive foul on a fast break, Rondo approached and made shoulder-to-shoulder contact with a referee.
From the league’s PR office: “Boston’s Rondo suspended 1 game for making contact with an official and failure to cooperate with a league investigation…” Rondo will be forced to sit out Monday night’s game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
You can watch video of the incident in question here.
As you probably already know, this isn’t the first time Rondo’s been disciplined for making contact with a league official. He did so back in April of last year in a playoff game against, who else, Atlanta, and was suspended for one game then as well.
Rondo was also suspended for two games earlier this season after an altercation with Nets forward Kris Humphries.
I’m a little sick of talking over and over about Rondo’s maturity level, so I’ll you guys discuss that among yourselves.
