Postal Service Audition Tapes with Weird Al, Tom Delonge, and More

PS2

Along with announcing additional tour dates, The Postal Service released their “audition tapes” to find a singer before the release of Give Up.  In this “Funny Or Die” video, we see Jimmy Tamborello and Jon Daly, aka Dave from Sub Pop, auditioning musicians such as Weird Al, Blink 182′s Tom DeLonge, Foo Fighters bassist Nate Mendel, Aimee Mann, Moby and more.  Tamborello ends up going with Death Cab For Cutie singer, Ben Gibbard, but I have to agree with Dave from Sub Pop, Weird Al would have been a perfect fit for the group.

The group’s album Give Up is getting re-released on April 9, for its 10th anniversary, via Sub Pop Records.  Check out the audition tapes below!
