Mark Fraser Takes A Slapshot To The Forehead Against Bruins

This week has featured a couple of NHLers willing to turn their faces into puck-stopping mechanisms. First, Washington’s Steven Olesky made the sacrifice earlier in the week during Game 1 against the Rangers, then Mark Fraser ate one on Wednesday night’s Bruins-Maple Leafs Game 4. Fraser took a Milan Lucic slapper to the forehead during the second period of the Bruins’ 4-3 overtime victory and did not return to action.

As scary and cringe-inducing as an incident like this can be, it looked like this one could have been much worse. The puck seemed to catch the bottom of Fraser’s helmet before impacting the head, which could have saved Fraser a whole lot of damage. Here’s to hoping he makes a full recovery.
