Greg Campbell injured after blocking slapshot, soldiers on to finish penalty kill

Gregory Campbell appeared to suffer a serious injury during a second period penalty kill Wednesday night during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Boston. Campbell hit the deck to block an Evgeni Malkin slapshot and did just that, appearing to take the puck off the side of his leg. Campbell immediately screamed out in pain before getting to his feet and remaining on the ice to finish out the penalty kill.

Campbell then slowly limped to the bench and had to helped down the tunnel to receive medical assistance. He did not return to the game for the Bruins, hinting that it may be a serious injury that could keep Campebell out of the lineup. We’ll update you as soon as we know more specifics on the injury.
