KG, Pierce, Terry introduced as Brooklyn Nets

Former Celtics veterans Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry were introduced as the newest members of the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center today. The three vets were traded to the Nets in a massive blockbuster deal on the night of the 2013 NBA Draft last month.

During the press conference, Pierce and Garnett talked about their desire to win another championship before they close the book on their Hall-of-Fame careers, as well as moving on from their tenure with the Celtics.

“It’s really starting to sink in as we speak, just being in this arena,” Pierce, who was drafted 10th overall by the Celtics back in 1998 and hasn’t played an NBA game for another team since, said Thursday. “I saw my jersey in the locker room; you saw the trade and you’re like ‘OK there is a trade’ but actually being here and looking for a place to live, being in this arena, trying to learn my way around the city, it’s really starting to sink it that it’s become real – I’m no longer a Boston Celtic.”

“I’m used to seeing some banners,” added Pierce, looking up at the baron Barclays Center rafters. “Now, when I look up here I start to think, how can I help put one up?”
