According to The Hollywood Reporter, after a fantastic weekend box office showing of The Butler, Lee Daniels will take on his next project in a biopic of Janis Joplin starring Amy Adams (Man of Steel, The Fighter).
“This is my next project for sure,” he tells THR of the planned biopic that’s been stalled for a decade, starring Amy Adams as the boozy blues singer. “I had no idea Janis Joplin was so smart — intellectual, even. Look, some of the smartest people in the world have been drug addicts.”
It will defintely be an unusal role for Adams to be playing the drug addict blues singer Joplin, but apparently she has some strong vocals in her arsenal. Let’s just hope she can mimick the electric ability of the music legend. We all know she has the sex appeal, which is half the battle. I have all the confidence in the world for this film to draw some positive attention from movie critics.
