The Yankees honored Mariano Rivera today as he heads into retirement, and what better way to get sent off than with Metallica? Rivera’s entrance music has been Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” ever since 1999, and that’s exactly what the group played today for Mariano Rivera Day at Yankee Stadium.  That’s just one of the pre-game gifts the Yankees honored Rivera with, his number 42 is painted on the outfield wall and the entire team will wear their iconic NY caps with a special Rivera patch on the side.
