The Pittsburgh Steelers fall from dominance

The Pittsburgh Steelers decisive 16-9 loss today against the Tennessee Titans is all the proof we need that this team is not the dominating Steelers team we’ve come to know. Mike Tomlin tried to convince the media that last year was just a down year and they would bounce back this season, but that looks highly unlikely after an appalling performance offensively.

To make matters worse, Maurkice Pouncey was likely lost for the season in this one, leaving an already leaky offensive line devastated and extremely weak. They have no running game to speak of so don’t be surprised if Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t make it to week six without being knocked out. The good news for them is everyone in the division lost this weekend so they are still tied for first. The bad news is the games aren’t going to get any easier than playing at home against the Titans.

Mike Tomlin needs to realize that he’s run the course with this group of players and needs to blow it up and start over. The Steelers are officially in rebuilding mode but don’t realize it. These are the kind of situations that cost head coaches their jobs.
