Heisman hopeful Marcus Mariota had himself a game today

Marcus Mariota isn’t exactly new to the college football scene. As a redshirt freshman he tallied over 3,400 total yards and 37 touchdowns while being named the Pac-12′s Offensive Freshman of  the Year and leading the Oregon Ducks to a Fiesta Bowl win. Yet, despite all of his success, Mariota was still somewhat of a hidden gem of the Northwest (he didn’t even crack the top ten in Heisman voting). His rise to national prominence was just a matter of time, and thanks to today’s performance, his time has finally come.

Going up against the 16th ranked Washington Huskies in Seattle, Mariota put on a show for the viewers. Not only did he sling the ball around to the tune of 366 yards and 3 touchdowns, he also ran for 88 yards and a score. Most importantly, he led the Ducks to a 45-24 victory. Check out all of his TD’s below:

4 yard touchdown pass to Bralon Addison.

First touchdown

65 yard touchdown pass to Josh Huff

Second touchdown

5 yard touchdown run

Third touchdown

3 yard touchdown pass to Bralon Addison

Fourth touchdown

Not a bad way to cement oneself as a Heisman contender.
