It took Patrick Roy one game to absolutely lose it behind the bench

Hall of Fame NHL goaltender and new Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy has a reputation for being hot-tempered and a little bit of a crazy guy, and it didn’t take long for that characteristic to shine through behind the bench.

Roy celebrated his first career NHL game as a coach by nearly killing Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau with the glass partition in between the two benches at the Pepsi Center. The incident occurred after Avs rookie Nathan MacKinnon was on the receiving end of a dirty knee-on-knee hit from Anaheim’s Ben Lovejoy towards the end of Colorado’s 6-1 shellacking of the Ducks.

If that’s how Roy is going to respond to blowout wins, I’d hate to see what happens to the other team’s coaches when the Avs are on the losing end.
