Miguel Cabrera ignores third base coach’s stop sign, gets gunned out by a mile

Miguel Cabrera, not known for being the speediest runner on the basepaths, ignored his third base coach’s stop signal and attempted to score on a first inning single to left field during Thursday’s Game 5 in Detroit. Did I mention that he’s not very fast? Miggy wound up getting gunned out at the plate…pretty much by a mile…by Jonny Gomes in left. The play wound up being the difference in the game, as the Tigers eventually lost Game 5 by a score of 4-3.

I know Cabrera is not only the best hitter in the American League but also one of the best of this generation, but maybe he should consider exercising every once in a while.
