The Boston Bullpen Cop celebrating in wildly inappropriate situations

By now we’re all familiar with the Boston bullpen cop who was made famous overnight after celebrating during David Ortiz’s game-tying grand slam in Game 2 of the ALCS. While he created one of the most talked-about moments stemming from that incredible Game 2 comeback, not everyone is a fan.

Torii Hunter – the Tigers outfielder who flipped over the bullpen wall in pursuit of Ortiz’s homer, creating the infamous scene that made the bullpen cop famous – is not a huge fan of the police officer. When asked about the cop, whose name is Steve Horgan, Hunter said “He’s supposed to be protect and serve. This son of a gun’s got his hands up! Help me, then cheer, fool!…I wish I would have kicked him in his face.”

This got me to thinking….was Horgan’s obvious jubilance inappropriate?  Meh…Possibly, but here are some situations where the gesture would be WAY worse.

If you’ve got any ideas for more scenes you think Mr. Horgan should infiltrate, let me know…I’ve got nothing better to do with my time.
