Kansas State student suffers seizure after being tackled by mascot

An amusing pre-game ritual turned into a scary scene this weekend when a Kansas State student suffered a seizure after being tackled by the school’s mascot before the Wildcats took on West Virginia on Staurday.

The student, a member of Kansas State’s cheer squad, was dressed up in West Virginia gear as KSU mascot, Willie the Wildcat, tackled him to get the crowd fired up. Willie sprinted at the student and tackled him with enough force to knock him out and leave him motionless on the turf before he started seizing up.

The scariest part? The ritual went on as planned and nobody seemed to notice the helpless kid.

Fortunately, the student was taken to the hospital to be evaluated and was later released. Kansas State is reviewing the incident and reportedly considering making changes to the pregame ritual.
