Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo put on an absolute show in Sweden

The hopes and dreams of two nations rested squarely on the shoulders of two men earlier today. Those men, superstars of the footballing world, would either guide their home country to a World Cup birth or return home feeling the sting of disappointment.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugese side had taken the first leg of their clash against the Ibrahimovic lead Sweden by an aggregate of 1-0, leaving Portugal with the task of either holding the king of finishing off the score-sheet (seemingly impossible) or getting the all important away goal. Either way it was going to come down to a battle between Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic for the role of their countries savior.

In the end it was Ronaldo who rose higher than Ibrahimovic, tallying a hat trick while Ibra put two in himself. It was a clash for the ages and in the footballing world it will not soon be forgotten.
