Mike Smith adds expert flopper to his repertoire

Phoenix Coyotes netminder Mike Smith is arguably one of the best puck-handlers at his position which is why it comes as no surprise when he decides to venture outside of his crease to retrieve a loose puck. Usually such an event leads to nothing more than an outlet pass but earlier tonight Smith was given the chance to display another important aspect of his game; his ability to flop.

That’s Montreal Canadien forward Max Pacioretty clipping Smith as he skates by which results in the netminder hitting the ice like the soccer sniper decided to venture into another sport.

Smith’s embellishment was good enough to force Pacioretty to the box for tripping.

Ironic that Canadian broadcasters are complaining about embellishment.
