As the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs get ready to play in this year’s Winter Classic at the Big House in Ann Arbor, their respective AHL affiliates are also gearing up to play an outdoor game at Comerica Park on December 30th.

In anticipation of that matchup – the “Winter Festival” game – Petr Mrazek, goalie for the Grand Rapids Griffins (the Wings’ AHL affiliate), has had a pair of adorable snowman pads made custom made for the occasion.

They’re awesome and I can’t wait to see them in action. I’m hoping that Frosty can come up with a kick save and a beauty.
