Man, the Astros just can’t do anything right, can they? The newest American League team is getting ready to unveil a new look complete with a new logo and uniforms next month, but they accidentally gave us a sneak preview thanks to a graphic (above) on the team’s website inviting fans to come to the launch party.
Playing with the brightness and exposure settings gives us a good idea of what the new threads may look like:
As you can see above, the new uniform will feature orange piping, ”ASTROS” appears across the front in navy and orange block lettering and also a player number on the lower side below the script. Here’s a closer look:
What about the hat, you ask? Well, it appears to be navy with an orange bill and features a logo similar to the classic 80s Astros cap logo shown inset on the graphic.
So it looks like the Astros will be the latest team to go with retro style unis, which definitely isn’t a bad thing. It seems like that’s the new trend in baseball, the Blue Jays, Orioles, and Mets all did the same last winter. I certainly don’t hate it.
What are your thoughts?
